I had an opportunity to go to the FHL in Salt Lake a few years back with my sister...we only stayed a couple of days, but WOW! What a treat that was!! So many records, and so many helpful folks....I'd LOVE to go back!

Here in Summerville, SC, My friend introduced me to her church, Latter Day Saints (Mormans) She and I go every Tues. to the Family Research Center to help me find my family. It cost nothing to use the facility and computers, etc. and everyone is so helpful. You can use Ancestry.com for free there and might even find something in the family trees... just a thought..good luck.

No Ancestry.com is NOT run by LDS church. It was owned by members once and at that time it was free in all the FHC . But was sold to whom ever. The new owners where not as charitable and Ancestry was removed from the centers. I will not go into all the legal stuff But after a lot of work Ancestry Library version is now in the centers.
