We were without power for 21 days a few years ago during an ice storm here. Believe it or not you learn how to cope!! And praying helps. We also had a fireplace and plenty of wood which was a real blessing.

All my best to you all during the storm. Going without power is a small price to pay to be safe and sound . Bless you all .

Take care, bring in everything that could be a wind hurled
weapon, and bring out quilts to put over your freezers if they are full of food.

We are as ready as we can. We have had a bad storm last night. Ground was saturated and it blew limbs and tops of trees down. Not looking forward to Irene but, we have been through them before on vacation on Top Sail Island in North Carolina.

I LOVE Harris Teeter!! When I lived in Alrlington (right next to the Ballston Mall) they opened one up about a block away. That was the BEST grocery store I ever got to shop at. Moved back to RI - when we had children that were old enough we went back to DC for a couple of vacations - one of the things they still talk about is riding the elevator in Harris Teeter with the grocery cart!

You DO have a treadle, don't you? Times like this make them worth keeping, IMO. I hope you don't get hammered too badly by the storm. Stay safe! :)
