Katia, what you said about putting food in garbage bags in the freezer is such a good idea. As a Katrina survivor and having had to clean out refrigerators after being away for several weeks, I will be doing this if we ever have to leave due to a hurricane again. I will never forget that smell. If you have seafood in your freezer, start cooking.

Everyone please be safe, hunker down, be careful with those generators.

I'm in central PA and we have had storm warnings and things mostly because of the Little League World Series is going on. The final Championship is to be played on Sunday, so the storms can't hit until after the game LoL

My home town team is the Keystone boy's (Mid Atlantic Champs)but unfortunately, they lost their second game earlier tonight and their reign has ended :(

I live 3 hours from the shore so we do get hurricanes. This must be a bad one because they're evacuating the shore. I never thought of jugs of water in the freezer but will be doing that. Please don't use candles. If there's a fire no one will get to you. Use flashlights.

I live west of Philly out in the "sticks". We lose power with these things. I have sewer but it is power by an electric pump so we can't use the "facilities" during power outages. Luckily the little park across from me has a porta-potty so I can use that. My neighbor has a generator, and he usually runs an extension cord over to me to run my freezer and hopefull my sump pump. I am filling jugs with water have plenty of food handy. I am putting all my sewing stuff UP in the basement. Will be prepared to crochet for a couple days if necessary.
