Lynnie, I have done fabric boxes with candy and sometimes with a dishcloth and scrubbie. they went over very well. Last year I did some 11" round hot mats for the table. Cut them 12" square, used backing, insul brite, batting and another piece of pretty fabric for the top. I then quilted it, cut out in a circle and put binding on. Sharon

I find that gifts of baked or cooked items are always appreciated. Homemade fudge in different flavors is something I give away. I put it in a pretty tin with a bow. Homemade pumpkin or banana bread is always welcome.

How about a yummy loaf of Cranberry Nut Bread. I make it every year now & everyone loves it. Good for people that you don't know well enough to know what they like or don't like. Everyone seems to love food!

What about a "corn warmer?" It gets cold in New York and she could use it on her shoulder, tummy, feet, etc?
I have made a ton of these for teacher gifts over the years and am surprised at how many people asked for another one the next year.
Filled with field corn, not cracked corn....removable cover--
Throw in a plate of cookies for an extra treat!!
