If they are creating a new household, how about a nice new Farberware perculator (makes the best coffee) and some gourmet coffee/baking gift basket? OR, what about his and her day spa gift certificates?

I say a "gift certificate"...not necessarily to a restaurant but even to Walmart, or Tuesday Morning, or BJ's or Sam's Club...there are going to be things "they" need....and/or---it will help with the refreshments they will serve for their first party as Mr & Mrs.

I can't think of anything to add. Gift cards to restaurants, B&B's, or to a dinner theater are all great gifts. Or you could donate a tree or bench in their honor at a local park, or a donation to their favorite charity. If they are animal lovers a donation to their local Humane Society, or to their church. Or get her some sexy nightgowns. My grandma at 65 wanted a sexy red nightie. She said it was something she'd never had and always wanted. Mom and dad got her one for Christmas thinking she'd never wear it. Several years later after grandpa passed and we were moving her to town I found that red nightie in one of her drawers. It was a rag! Totally worn out!

I think a gift card to a nice restaurant would be a very welcoming gift after all the work they will be doing getting rid of the stuff they didn't need. That's alot of hard work.

Gift cards are always welcome, but new sheets which could be personalised or towels I am sure would be well received.

My mom has done the same thing. She wanted new plates because her old ones brought back bad memories. I only knew this because I asked her if there was anything NEW that she would like to have. I agree that the gift certificates are a great idea!

I gave my friend a piece of hardanger embroidery I did when she remarried at 68. She didn't have any handwork.

Tickets to a dinner theater would be nice or any kind of gift certificates to eat out or for gas so they can travel.

Ask. The idea of a new nightie is great. Someone gave my oldest sister one that was sexy and she was 67 at time, and she is wearing it out. 67 is still young. Get a matching robe to go with it. Never too old for things like that.
It is personal but he will love it too.

Linens come in second as they make the bed theirs and not the before times. They will make their own memories on their own new linens
