Default Good chuckle from school! True story!

So, I have been having a go with insomina. As you can guess this makes working at school at this time of year a bit of a challange.

Yesterday we walked downtown to the public library with our grade one class. As the librarian was doing the presentation I felt it coming on. Yep I closed my eyes...and fell asleep, you know one of those startel awake type of nap that you just can't control.

So my home room teacher (I'm a special needs assistant) tells me today that she over hears one of the boys telling another...

'now we have to be really quiet cause Miss Dixie's having a nap!'

Dang, can't get away with anything. LOL

Oh my goodness. Well at least the kids were nice enough to be quiet so you really could nap. They are so sweet and probably know you needed one!!

Having found how serious my own personal case was without my even realizing it, I urge you to see a doctor about a sleep study. Disrupted sleep can damage your heart and have other serious health issues. My daughter, a pediatrician, literally saved my life by insisting I go for one!'

I agree with Jan. Not getting a good night's sleep can really take its toll on you over time, it's worth having it checked out.

Glad your students were young enough to be thoughtful!

When my DGs were smaller, I watched them full time. I had hurt my back so I was lying on the couch. Both boys were on there with me. I am a light sleeper so I knew if they got off the couch , I would wake up. Well needless to say I dozed off. Soon I hear-Gramma are you sleeping? I said no I wasn't. He said how come your eyes were like this then? ( closes his eyes) that means you were sleeping! I had to laugh- he was so cute. My FIL used to tell my kids that he was checking his eyelids for cracks or just resting his eyes!

Awe, how sweet! I have to take xanax every night since my DH passed, or I would never sleep! Before that, I never had trouble sleeping!

When my husband used to doze off in church and we teased him, he would say he was "checking his eyelids for light leaks"!

So glad that the kids were so considerate. Cute story. You really can't get away with anything with kids.

Too funny! Sounds like something I'd do. I always get a tickle at church when the someone cat naps and starts to snore. LOL
