Gosh, I didn't even think about receiving a call or card from any of our 4 grandkids. However, DH mentioned that we didn't "have" to attend grandparents day at the local school (first time in 15 years) since our youngest in school has advanced to the age where his class is not included with the grandparents celebration.

We were rewarded big time on grandparents day by my youngest son and his wife, they have a 2yr old boy and a one year old boy, i take care of them during the week while they work, they gave us cards with lots of money, (we don't ask for money for taking care of them)and printed a pic of the boys from the computer and at the bottom it said from troy, tyler and baby x. I had missed the baby x part and my son said "you forgot one" and i said you only have two, when i looked at my DIL she was crying, my jaw dropped and all i could say was "NO" not another one (I had told them after the second one "no more") so I guess it will be three, and i am hoping for a girl. My daughter has two boys also, they are 12 and 6, i took care of the 12 year old till he was 6 and then off and on. sorry this was so long, but my son is forever helping us out, don't get anything from my daughters two sons, but we don't expect it

My 2 little grandsons evidently forgot, they always let us know! And my 17 year old granddaughter, evidently forgot also! But that's okay. We know they love us! Absolutely didn't want any cards or gifts! Just words saying," Happy Grandparents day, grandma and papaw!" is all that matters!

I'm wondering why so many harsh comments about "another holiday"? Anytime I can find a reason to acknowledge anyone in my life is a time of joy. I never had grandparents (all died before I was born), and would welcome someone to treat special on a special day. You guessed it...........none of my 10 grands, or 1 gr grand remembered me or their grandpa. So I went to a quilt retreat! Who's the winner here?

I was acknowledged by my granddaughter. Her mother has never forgotten ever since Aubrey was born. I have gotten 3 years of pure happiness. I get a framed picture of Aubrey and then a drawing (by Aubrey) of Aubrey with her Grandma. since I am responding at work, maybe when I get home I can take a pic and show you guys!!!
