One year we found the Christmas ornaments that open, and hung them on the tree. After the girls had opened their other gifts my DH said said he got the ornaments for their trees at home. They were shocked since they had gifts and it was a rather large amount, but both were in college and working full time too and we figured they could use some extra funds for a vacation.

    fabulous idea, thanks for sharing.

Connie, can you remember anything at all about the poems, I know others would love the idea.

I did this when my grandchildren were smaller. They loved pulling the money out to see how much there was.

All my children have a higher disposable income than I do. I try to make them small things they will use.eg fingerless gauntlets for my daughter who complains the office is always too cold, or a "chalk bag: for my climber son.

I made origami pieces out of twenty dollar bills for my son one year. He liked them so much he didn't want to take them apart. I then told him to unfold them and I would make another set using ones.

Lynnie, my mind is a blank about the poems right now. . I may find I left one or two in a Christmas box so I will write a reply if I find any.

Here is an idea for a gas gift card for someone with a special friend that lives in another town:

    Here is some gas money
So you can visit your honey.
