Growing An African Violet from A leaf?
#43
I love growing these. I have some pics of the ones I gave my Mom. I'll try to get them on here.
The first three starting from the top are trailors. Small single lavenar petite blooms.

Sometimes if someone is working the flowers at a store and they have leaves that have gotten broken, I'll ask them if I can have them. But you don't know what you are getting until it blooms.
Also the best thing about starting from leaves, you don't know how many plants you will end up with. Some leaves produce lots of new plants. You just have to seperate them.

Betty and Carrie Anne.... Yup, you caught me!! LOL It is from my climbing rose that adorns the front of my house. I brought the last bloom of the season in the house before we were to have a frost that night. I love this rose plant.....it is a mass of pink all summer.

I love my flowers Patti. I can't wait to take new pictures this year. I have lots of pics on my fb. But when I start adding the 2011 pics, I'll start deleteing those. Maybe we should start a garden discussion to show our beautiful pics.
