I would first of all flag her ad on CL and then I would post on there about what happened. She's going to do this to someone else!

Aw, thats sad. Why couldnt she just be honest and tell you she wasnt looking for that kind of fabric or something? Then you could have shared the great gift with someone who would have LOVED it. Just remember, your heart was in the right place, you did a very nice thing donating!

Yes, I agree, and you know what? I searched Catholic Charities. If the lister represents them the Better Business Bureau might also be interested.

    I agree tax write off.
I would not be surprised if she made items from donated material and then sold them. Larger profit if you don't to purchase fabric.
The Lord knows and will deal with her.

it's just like Christmas down here in the south - a gazillion charities all collect money, gifts, clothes, toys, food, and it all goes to the SAME PEOPLE... who wind up with a fantastic Christmas season ALL FOR FREE.....

You are right the same people have a better Chistmas than the givers.
I have found the best way to help is to talk with the local school's guidence counciler. They know of students that fall between the cracks of getting any help.
I am surprised at the number of homeless students.
This can be done without student ever knowing.

I learn years ago that when I give what the receiver does with the gift is between them and God. I give in good faith and so one somewhere will be blessed. Your motives were good and pure. Who knows what was going on in the other lady's mind.

Things like this really burn me up ! What a smart ace ! Maybe she was trying to see if anyone would donate or not . I am out of work and don't beg for fabric . You have to be so very careful about these craiglist ads . I had some yarn and crochet thread listed on there last year . Didn't get any takers , but some woman told me to advertise it somewhere else . Can you believe that ?

I was gifted some fabric a few months ago and none of it went to the goodwill ! I have used a little bit of it . Will use some of it soon . Annie
