I think I'd also be contacting Catholic Charities in your area and let them know what happened...~shrug~

She could get a tax write off this way. Thats what I think. Oh I just saw someone else thinks tax write off. Tax write off's are important now days with so few things that can be written off.

I believe I would have to ask her why she did this. Why didn't she return it to you or at least ask you if you wanted it back if it wasn't what she was looking for??? Not very nice of her!!!

What an awful thing to do to you. In my area in Michigan, we have a news station that does the "Hall Of Shame". This woman belongs on that list. If you happen to know this woman's first and last name, give it to the IRS.

Just a suggestion...write to her so everyone else can see it,
but be thrilled that you had "DISCOVERED" some fabric
exactly like the stuff you gave her at Goodwill, and if she
hurrys she could get it and have double the amount she
    asked for.

She will know that you know what she did, and lots of others
will figure that out, all without you getting nasty!

Yeah this kind of thing makes you sick inside. But, daddy use to advise us not to dwell on the "maker's' bid". He said when you give it it isn't yours any longer and heart and honesty of the receipient is in the hands of HIM. So, don't hang on to what isn't yours, even the intent and resolve isn't ours, ya know??? but don't you just wish she'd walk by with a loose shoelace. There is forgiveness for everything, almost! almost.

    Blessings, Ruth

I wonder - - how much value do you suppose Goodwill gave her on her receipt for donating all that fabric? <wave> I think it is called a "tax deduction" ...

Some people will go around a mile to just not say the truth: "I'm sorry but these will not work out for me." Maybe she thought she'd hurt your feelings.
