Long now after many many years
of very very short (once even a man cut).

Now letting the white grow out
    after years of coloring. Was
    prematurely white at 35.

Decided at 65 it was time.

Short now and I love it. I have very thick, curly hair and it used to be down to the middle of my back and all one length. It was pretty but it was a lot of work too.

    Me too.

I had hair almost to my waist for most of the first 30 years of my life. Now I like it really short.

Less time spent fussing with my hair means more time for fussing with my fabrics.

=sigh= It seems everything always comes back to the obsession.

Short since 1970, I don't have the patience to fuss with it. Now I can get up, wash, run my finger through my hair and leave.

Yes, my hair is quite heavy. I've almost always had long hair. I used to french braid it in one braid, then wrap the braid around into a circle and pin it. That distributed the weight more evenly than a pony tail and didn't give me headaches.

Now my hair is about shoulder length.

I live in Texas and...needless to say...it is HOT! My hair is about 3" above my knees. However, it isn't very thick, so it is not too heavy. It is also very straight - no body at all! I wear it down most of the time, but when I get home I twist it up and pin it. I have worn my hair long most of my life, but have also had it as short as 1". To me, because it is so thin and straight, it is much easier to wear it long because, when it is short, I feel I have to get perms and use curlers and lots of hairspray. Besides I have always loved long hair.

My mother is just the opposite. She prefers her hair short.

I have an appt tonight to have mine shortened...too much work in the morning and it is too hot to stand under the hair dryer and flat iron.
