My mom made one for my daughter when she was born (1975) and she carried it on her wedding day. Good memories - thanks!

I just love the poem. I had to make a few for a" friend"...everyone complimented her on HER work....need I say more.

I did just the opposite, made a hankie for my daughter's wedding for her to carry with the thought of making it into a bonnet for her first child. She doesn't have any children yet.

Many thanks to all of you.

I have made the hankie with Irish Bobin Lace around the edge. I what to make some for the ones that will come later. My daughter will put them away for safe keeping.

It's a great idea! I saw one at work recently. The only negative I know of is that the ties make it a choking hazard and it will be removed from a basinet at the hospital. Be careful.
