In the first picture my mom was 16 years old, and had just married my father, who was 24. In the second picture, we're celebrating her 80th birthday, and she's holding her great great granddaughter, Haylee. She's a lovely lady, inside and out. Age hasn't slowed her down, right now she is on a two week cruise to Spain, her 87th cruise. Love ya mom!

Here are a couple pictures of my Mother - we never called her Mom - only Mother. She was a beautiful lady, great cook especially pies and sugar cookies, and a very, very deep faith. Several months before she passed, she talked about what a job it would be to clear her home. My husband asked her if she was planning on moving. She replied, "I am going to go live with the Lord, of course." And she did in 2006 at the age of 88. She was soft spoken, caring and gentle.

I have looked at all these pictures with delight. Weren't they lovely! My mother (first picture) is still with me, age 88. She is a treasure and a daily delight in my life. I'm also posting a photo of my dear mother-in-law who died in 1995. She was a lovely lady and a second mother to me from the time I was fourteen. I miss her still

My mom never made quilts, but she taught me to sew at an early age using an old treadle machine. She sent me this picture of herself because it has quilts in it.

The first picture is my Mom on the beach on Cape Cod in a dress b/c she was so busy packing everyone's stuff that she forgot her suitcase!
Second is February of this year recovering from surgery at my house.
She taught me honesty, respect for others, and to not hold grudges.
She also taught me the importance of exercise and eating healthy. She's in great shape for her age and sailed through surgery a few months ago. She has such a strong zest for life. She gave her whole life to my Dad and we kids but always maintained her interests.
One of the best things she gave me was a walk to the library when I was 4 to get my first library card. My love for books is as strong as hers. She never drove and I'm sure all the walking she's done has helped her!
She was loved by all the kids in our neighborhood growing up. She baked for everyone.
She's so kind and I'm so grateful to still have her.

My beautiful mom is June Rose, taken on our Alaskan cruise in '09. She is a retired school counselor, the person I most admire in the world, and my best friend. She inspired me to sew and still does a little herself. She loves duplicate bridge and is a "life-master" (hope I'm saying that right). She and I love to go wine tasting and she is 86 years young on June 6th.

I loved seeing pictures of all your Mom's. I lost my Mom in 1970. I was the baby of five children and needless to say was spoiled. I love my Mom so much and miss her so. She taught me to sew too. I am very thankful that I had such wonderful parents. Idon't know how to post photos. Sorry.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Mother's Day.

I miss my mom a lot - she died almost two years ago at the age of 90. That year she went to Florida with us to visit my sister in January, had a wonderful big open house 90th birthday party in the May, danced down the aisle with her walker after our daughter's wedding that August, and suffered a hemorrhagic stroke in October, and lasted 11 days in hospital. She was a wonderful mom, a real sewing inspiration, a role model for doing one's absolute best in everything, and just a great friend. I have a little red bud decorative bush in the backyard in her honor, and it is just now coming out in lovely pink buds. I am including 2 photos of her - one as a child, and one at her 90th birthday party. Love you, Mom!!!
