i remember trying hard not to get holes in my clthes and how about the bleached out look. i figure i could do that myself. as matter of fact the first laundry i ever did when i got married i did do that plus i shrunk my exes pants down to my size (then 3-5 ) without even trying. LOL lets just say it was a learning experience. we won't even get into the worst meals ever. but girl scouts did teach us to make pancakes so i could do that at least.

i also think it is real sad that the stars, actors etc with their money and the cost of tickets people pay don't dress better than the bummy guy down the street.I can see that for free. maybe i am being odd but i refuse to pay to see that.

OMG I just realized what that box of old jeans sitting in my studio waiting to be made into a picnic blanket are worth! Lots and lots more quilt fabric LOL

If you know any one dumb enuff to waste $$ I have 15-20 pr they can have at a real good price and a bunch of shirts needing buttons to complete their outfit. And the real sad thing is if we dressed our kids all raggedy the school would have sent out child welfare workers to the house

That is so ridiculous. Even if I was rich I wouldn't spend that for a pair of jeans. My daughter, 27 is in that mentality of spending money frivously. She bought a new pair of sunglasses and I noticed the Coach name on the temple. I commented to her..bet they were expensive. She replied "no, not really. They were only $60.00." I have the same pair of sunglasses that I bought at the Dollar Tree for..you guessed it $1.00. Am I cheap? I never buy anything unless it is on sale. Even fabric.
    Peace and blessings,

Do you remember the time you didn't want to wear jeans if they looked too worn or faded? I have to laugh every time I see that stuff. Obviously, there must me some idiot out there who buys them or they wouldn't keep making them. I haven't seen a whole jean I would pay $179.00 for. It is the same material used in the $20 kind, they just put another name on them.

I refuse to buy my teenagers jeans with holes - they can wear ones they put their own holes in!

Yep! and someone mentioned that "they" could "make" their own by just "WORKING" in the garden!!! HA!!!! same people buying have the perfectly manicured nails, probably not their own requiring maintenance and more $$$ oh my, they have alot more money than I do, or I just have different priorities, cause if I had that I could see spending on a variety of worthy causes, like humane society, rescues, homeless shelters, QOV, Ronald McDonald Houses (if you have ever had to utilized there services you would understand what an awesome cause that is) just to mention a few...... not to mention my love for anything sewing or quilting related.
