My daughter saw one of these and said they looked like an old pair of her husband's back yard work pants that her Boxer and Sheep dog had gotten hold of and played keep away with for a week or so.
People actually PAY money for this stuff?
Why am I not surprised?

I can think of all sorts of things to spend $179 on besides jeans - several years ago my nephew married a lovely girl (they have since divorced) at probably one of the most elaborate weddings that I have ever been too - must have cost somewhere around $30 - 40K for the thing - yes it was beautiful but well out of our price range - when our dd started dreaming about having the same type of wedding I informed her that we would never pay for a wedding like that and if I had the money to pay for such a wedding I would still not do so but would give her the money as a downpayment on a house instead - well, long story short, when she did decide to get married they went to a beautifl resort in Mexico and were married there (yes, we helped with it quite a bit) and when they returned we had a wonderful receiption for them - and when the got around to buying their first home let's just say that we are heavily invested in it also -
for those of you whose children had the big fancy beautiful wedding I don't mean to down play your child's big event it was just that was more than I knew we could afford and thatI didn't want her to get her hopes up for such a wedding. It all worked out well in the long run

I agree on the weddings - everyone is trying to outdo everyone else. I remember when people got married in their local church and had the reception at the Elks hall, or wherever. Now you have to have a castle or something. I crack up when I see the couple on Judge Judy, "Oh, my wedding was ruined because the flowers did not match the bridesmaids dresses..."

Alright my daughter would, then when she gets tired of them I get the hand me downs. I have to admit I love them, they fit like second skin and they last far more then a few washings. The brand name matters! I did once pay 140. for a pair of jeans, silly I know, but I was the judge for a quilt show at a museum and for those occasions I will splurge. Other wise I wear the same two pairs of levi's for days on end!
I still have my holie hip hugger bell bottoms from the 70's hand embroidered - I can squeeze into them, if they really fit I would wear them to art openings- with a new blouse not to cost less then $100.

Lo and behold, I saw a pair of acid-washed blue jeans with holes (HOLES!), strategically placed, I'm sure, on the knees and pockets. They were absolutely worn out from washing! If they'd been in my closet, they would have been transitioned to gardening jeans long ago. But these were brand new, hanging on a hanger, waiting for some idiot to buy them. The price? Care to guess?
$179.00!!
Who would pay $179 for jeans (no less) that won't survive three more washes? I could have found something far less "worn out" at Goodwill for about $12. Is this nuts, or what?
As I always say, some people have more money than cents (pun intended).
