Has anyone ever found a comfortable bra?

(the picture is kind of weird - the bra on the model looks WAY more saggy than it looks in real life.)

Remember those cotton (woven cotton, not knit) bras with the spiral seaming on the cups...Der Valkyrie comes to mind...they were so itchy and when washed, the fabric shrank slightly between the seams so you got a ruched effect...

I think the moral of this story is that we're looking for a very structured garment that's universal enough in size to fit everyone perfectly without being uncomfortable, is pretty enough for some, shaping enough for others, supportive enough for everyone AND is in an affordable price range... What a tall order!
It's too bad they don't make as many styles in bras as they do shoes or we might actually have a chance.

Sounds to me like the person who fitted you didn't do a very good job. The cup size may have been wrong.
Reminds me of when I took my daughter to be fitted for a bra as I had gotten tired of telling her she needed to be fitted and constantly hearing the complaints about how awful "us women" have it having to endure bras.
Well she had refused to be fitted for several years and had always bought off the rack so to speak, so one day I took her into a specialist shop and while she looked for her size I went and talked to one of the assistances asking which was qualified to "fit" then sent her down to see said DD.
DD dutifully went off to be fitted (rather than cause a scene) and suddenly all you could hear in the whole shop was this - OMG OMG your wonderful. Now she wont wear any bra that hasn't been fitted. I have even heard her telling people they must go and get fitted properly. Who'd have known Mothers do sometimes know a thing or two?

The thing is, its gotta fit you and your proportions, and you and I can be the same band and cup size and the same bra will fit you but not me.
A bra that fits is comfortable, underwire or no underwire. If its uncomfortable it doesn't fit.
My advice is to go to a store, gather as many as you think you might fit into in multiple sizes and try 'em all on.
And FWIW: I have been "fitted" twice, each time I was told I was a D cup. I am not, D cups are too big and the C cups fit better. You just gotta try them on.
