    Hi,

I just got our big chest type freezer defrosted (also hubby helped, well I guess he did most of the work) ha ha

we took all the meat out, turn off freezer, and then waited for an hour or so and used a putty knife to get the chunks of ice off, he used a bucket to get the big pieces out from bottom of freezer since it is hard for me to reach that far now

took a towel to wipe off inside of freezer, turn it back on and waiting for it to get cold again so we can put the meat back in it

(have the meat in side by side freezer now, to transfer and organize it again)

It's been a couple of years since I did mine. It is probably due for a defrosting. Not right now, I am too busy!!! And it is too full!!

We have a chest freezer we defrost every year. Our upright is self defrosting.

Everytime I go to the basement to get something out of the freezer..I cringe. I know I need to defrost it and clean it out..but...but...but..I can always find an excuse.

Did you find any UFOs? (Unidentified Frozen Objects). Every time I do mine I find something of "interest" in there LOL. Guess I don't do it often enough.

I tend to find those too!! We cooked a turkey last fall that had been in there 3 years. It turned out really moist and tender and tasty!!!

I have a 20 cf Chest freezer. And 2 side by side refrig, one in the garage across from the freezer.
