We went on a quilting cruise. The inside passage to Alaska and back to Vancouver. I would probably go again. We had our machines all set up so we could look out and see the view. We could sew anytime we wanted and husbands could come by anytime. It was very relaxed and we both loved it. By the way, it was a few years ago and I haven't finished the project yet.

Yes. DH and I went with two other couples. We boarded the Royal Carribean in Galveston, TX. I don't remember the order of the ports of call but: We went to a pineapple/coffee plantation in Jamica (a super fun bus ride), the Myan Ruins in Tulum, Mexico (another l hour boat ride to location from Cozamel) and a tour of the main Cayman island, including a rum factory and power shopping in the Columbian Emerald jewelry stores. The dining was fantastic! It was a trip I will never forget!

have been cruising all over the carribean, in the bahamas, both sides of mexico, through the panama canal and the islands off south america, in hawaii, the inside passage and gulf of alaska, in big ships and little ships and on my own boat. the best cruises of all ..... the ferry trips through the inside passages. prince willliam sound, to kodiak, and all the way out to dutch harbor -- can't beat the marine hiways of alaska!

Nope. I will never get on a crew ship. I have heard of too many missing people on some of them and also some of the people's nightmares about a hurricane close to them when they were out there. And also I get sea sick.
I another thing, I can't afford to go on my very small social security check.

Mom-6, My girlfriend and I went on a 'Quilt For the Cure" cruise to Alaska in 2006. We had a wonderful time. There were about 125 quilters on the trip. Some brought their husbands. It was fun. My husband didn't want to go. There is a trip to Hawaii in 2012 that we both would like to go on. We'll have to wait and see how the Economy is then. Eiltcoq.

We took the Alaska Cruise several years ago. It was great, but tiring having to be ready to go somewhere at 6 A.M.!
The best one was a river cruise on the Rhine and Danube rivers. It was a small ship, but luxurious. We got to know all the people and the scenery was spectacular. We stopped every day and took walking tours of the towns and cities like Nuremberg and Vienna and Cologne. There were a few bus trips. Fantastic!

My husband and I have been on many cruises (Caribbean,Alaska, and Northern New England/Canada). There is absolutely NO comparison of a cruise ship to a military ship! I hate to hear men say that! My brother & his wife have become avid cruisers and I never thought that would happen. What's most important though, I think, is the cruise line you pick! Carnival ships are mostly for the 18-24 crowd - a lot of drinking and partying. I love Princess the best, but my husband likes Holland America. Ladies, if the men don't want to go, grab a couple friends and have a ball!

My husband and I went on many cruises, it was our favourite way to holiday. After he passed away, I decided that I would go alone, as my friends were not interested in cruising. I would recommend this to anyone in my situation, as you are safe, and meet so many other people, I always ask for a table at dining of 6 or 8 people, and I have always been sat with such lovely people, mostly other passengers sailing singly.
