Bev, I wish I could give you a real hug, but this will have to do (((HUGS)))). My MIL was my best friend and when she passed away, I was lost. It gets better, but you will have good and bad days....take baby steps and it will help..
When I have a bad day, Tink is able to know that it is bad, and she makes sure that she cuddles me and lots of kisses...It helps. Let your little guys make you feel better......

Lawwww, yes and I didn't know where to turn. They have a grief counselor at the funeral home. That helped me so much. I'd lost my sis, dad, mom, a 33 yr marriage and this lovely friend in three years. This one seemed the hardest. Friends are angels sent to lift us when we need an extra special lift. I found turning toward someone who needed a friend, helped me so much. The counselor guided me and I think we are becoming new best friends. {{{{HUGS}}}} - Ruth

Bev I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad though that you came here & posted about it. We are here for you. It is sad. I did lose a great friend once. I think of her an awful lot. I wasn't into quilting then, but we did do a lot of cross stitching together. You have memories. Hang onto those. Again, I am so sorry.
Huge Hugs

Sounds like your friend had it very hard at the end, and how sad, since she was such a loving, caring person. I know it is hard on you, to lose someone so special.
I have lost best friends, though not to death, and it is always hard. It is even harder when you lose someone loved to death.
I know you have had health problems of your own, Bev. Please take care of yourself even while you grieve. You still have your family - cherish them all the more.
As to how to deal with it, you mourn but you try hard to keep on with your life. Focus on the things that need doing, even if it's just doing the laundry. You might not feel better for a while, but the laundry will get done. And reach out to others, get closer to those you still have.
It's wonderful to see a post from you here, and I hope you'll continue posting - hopefully for happier reasons.
