Have you ever lost your best friend?

I lost my Aunt, Uncle, Mom, Step Dad and Dad in 1 year. The pain can be so overwhelming you wonder if you can go on. But, I know this will sound silly, I sat down after each one passed and made a quilt in their favorite colors, etc. I spoke to them as I quilted and cried, about all of the wonderful times I could remember and laughs and accidents. When the quilt was finally finished, I felt I had put my love and theirs in that quilt and it made me feel so good to remember the making of those quilts. Some, I have passed on to family members but my Moms quilt, I keep close to me and my Step dads also. You might try it see if it helps. The remembering is very special.

I lost my best friend about 5 years ago. There is not a day yet that goes by that I don't think of her. I only knew her for about 5 years. But it was like a long lost sister. We just clicked, we thought alike and loved doing the same things. I don't know what to tell you about dealing with yor loss. Except,it does get a little easier to keep yourself together. I still have days when I see a car like she used to drive, I get ready to wavy and honk the horn. I miss her so much. Just know that we are all here to listen. Sheila
