Have you made a fabric pumpkin?
If so, I'd love to see pics and to know what pattern you used! I must be google-impaired because I couldn't find anything good. I have a good friend whose anniversary party is next month and all I can think of is that she loves pumpkins, so it would be fun to try one for her. But I'd love some suggestions!

I think it was Craftybear that posted a site for a cute little pumpkin pincushion last year. I made one in that size and a larger one for my Thankgiving table. The site was www.2.fiskars.com

I've made several different types, but I think one of the easiest and most effective is made by cutting a big circle and preparing it like a big yo-yo. Stuff it and then pull the opening tight with strong thread, inserting a small stick from the yard, cute if it's branched a little. You can add some leaves, (or even fall flowers) either cut out of fabric and quilted or from a stem of silk fall colors. Add some pipe-cleaner curled into twirls if you want or a contrasting bow around the stem. These look great grouped on a mantle or in a bowl on a table. Made smaller, they are perfect pincushions. The fabric you use can vary from cotton to fancy silk or upholstery fabric, and can include prints as well as solids, traditional oranges, or oranges with some cream, gold or similar colors. (My crazy quilt group did these as an after-meeting quickie project using large pieces of upholstery samples.) Everyone loved them. The work up quickly. (Do you remember the toilet tissue pumpkin from last fall? It's also a fun addition she might enjoy. My granddaughter thought it was great and few guess what it is without stopping to think!)
