Read the book a few years ago, loved it, next week going with neighborhood friends.
I didn't relieze that was still going on in the 60's. I quess living in the North we weren't subjected to having those issues.

I loved the movie and it's bound to win some awards, but I wish I hadn't read the book first. Of course, they couldn't include everything that was in the book, but I missed seeing a few really good parts of the book. For those of you who saw the movie but haven't read the book, the book will be even more enjoyable if you read it now.
