Sounds like you have been given lots of good names. I had a deaf from birth Sheltie. We trained him to use signs. Another thing that helped when he was outside was to flash the porch light off and on. It signaled him that we wanted him to come to the door. When he's asleep in the house you can also stomp on the floor (if it's a wooden floor) to get his attention. Just always do the same stomp. The hardest part of having a deaf dog is when he's asleep...you can't call him to find him. Another problem is if they get out and get loose. A meter reader left our back gate open and our dog got out. We finally found him several days later at the pound. Make sure you have a collar on him all the time and have a tag engraved w/the fact that he's deaf. That way if anyone catches him they will know why he isn't responding to them...also will deter them from keeping him.
