Looks like a squash did your neighbor tell you the name?

That is what I thought it was too! My Mom used to grow them. I haven't seen one since she passed away.

Save the seeds and plant them next year. Be pleasantly surprised. Or, you just might be plain old surprised.

It's worth doing, and if you live where others grow melons or gourds, you might come up with something totally different.

Or you might learn to like this as it is!!

Guava is not that moist inside. Is actually very dry, and passion fruit, which was my first thought went out the window when I saw it open, since the seeds of the passion fruit are black. Also, passion fruit doesn't have pulp like that. You have a mystery.

Here's the thing cut crosswise. I'm still pretty sure its a lemon cucumber..so thats what I'm going with as the solution to the mystery.

I am no expert by any means, but from the configuration of the seeds I would say you are correct.

This thing has to be in the cantaloupe family. Look at the seeds. Compare them to a cantaloupe. It looks like some of the seeds are underdevloped which means it hasn't reached maturity yet. This thing has to be a golden honeydew melon. It is driving me crazy. I have been researching and researching. LOL LOL I watch to much CSI and NCIS on TV. Would you concider sending me a couple of seeds? I have all kinds of seeds. Maybe I can figure it out. Has anyone tasted it? What does it taste like?

Check out this site. It shows several pics, describes the vines, and even recipes for lemon cucumbers. I think this looks a lot like what you have.

This is exactly what the lemon cucumbers I grew two years ago looked like when cut into. This is why I said they were very seedy for a cuke. The one you cut is fully matured.
