I use that recipe too! Although I chose Suave kiwi because the smell was minimal and not flowery. It works so well and no ethanol like commercial fabric softener. ANd I make my own dry laundry soap. Had to try a couple of recipes as we have hard water but increasing the baking soda really helped.

Go "bad"? I'm not sure what you mean. It has 3 ingredients, and I've never heard of any of those ingredients going bad. Vinegar actually prevents bacterial growth, and I've had bottles of hair conditioner sitting in the cupboard for months, even a year or two, with no problem (I like to stock up on sales).
