    Merry Christmas to all. Just left my Mom's after attending the candlelight service. Enjoyed dinner at Hyden's (seafood) first and then spent some time with Mom praying since it is the first Christmas without my Dad (he passed Sept. 19). Praise God he is in the safe and loving arms of our Lord and Savior. I feel his presence, and miss him dearly, but know he is in a better place. Thank you for listening and keep us in your prayers. Cherie

    Merry Christmas to all of you. I just joined the family a few months back and you all have made me feel so welcome on this board. I love how everyone is so friendly, caring and helpful to others. Merry Christmas to each of you and may God Bless you and your families.

    Merry Christmas to all of you. I also think of this group as family, even though I am not on here quite as much as I would like to be. LOL I do nto mind being alone on Christmas Day as I have had to be sev times if DH was out on a job. Oilfield.Ugh! We always have our kids & grands over on the 22nd & then those that can go to my parents on the 24th for dinner & gifts @ 6pm. Mom is a stickler about the 6 pm thing. LOL So on Christmas Day DH & I just hang out or go to a movie. If he is gone, I sew or handquilt. Which is a good way to spend any day. I am just happy that I can always come here or I can sew to pass the time away. Thank You All for that. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

    Merry Christmas everyone.. Just finished the last of the cookies I was wanting to make.. Just Me, Dh and my lil one for Christmas this year.. We spent last weekend with my parents for our yearly family Xmas gathering. We started doing this years ago so all my sibling could spend the holiday with their in-laws, unfortunately my MIL passed away not to long ago and FIL currently in nursing home.

    Happy Birthday Jesus..

    Merry Christmas! My man is on a post 3,000 miles away. He said it's like walking through The Shining. Empty and cold. I got to wish him a Merry Christmas in his time zone and that was nice. My grandmother never had that luxury. His next Christmas will be in Afghanistan. I hope everyone has a good time wherever you are.

    Merry Christmas to all! It is nice that we can be an extended family for each other. Just DH and I and the fur babies tonight. Went to Christmas Eve services (I play the organ), then home to finish up some gifts, wrap presents and bake pies for tomorrow. Sharing the afternoon with our oldest DD and only DGS. Youngest DD is in France (she has been living in NZ), and won't see our DS until next weekend. Seems odd not having the kids waking us up at 5AM to see what Santa brought! LOL

    Well, it is off to bed for me, can't seem to settle tonight, but DH and the dog don't seem to have that problem...they are both snoring! lol

    Sweet dreams!

    Hello Marye. I am doing better. Some days still seem unreal for me that he actually isn't there. But I am getting better. I did write the letter. I have it with the sympathy cards that friends and family sent to us under his urn. We also have a framed picture that sits on his urn, which is a wooden box.

    Thank you for checking in on me!
