Boy, wasn't that the summer remember. I was afraid this summer was going to be a repeat when it hit 117 degrees just a few weeks ago. Forget Dry Heat try more like inferno heat :!: :!: :!:

At that should dispel all beliefs that it is always cold in Minn. I spent one summer with a whole week over 100 in SW MN.
I know that high temps are hard for those of you that live
in places where it rarely gets that hot, but trust me when I
say that i would welcome one whole week of over 100 degrees. We are going on 2 months of over 100, and not
one drop of rain, with no end in sight. At night it gets down
to the low 80's, so no cooling off at all. For those of you that
like it hot, come on down - we have plenty to go around. :)
    Have a Blessed Day!

Hottest ever recorded temperatures ever on the planet was on September 13, 1922, in El Azizia (also known as Al 'Aziziyah), Libya, when the mercury hit 136 degrees Fahrenheit. El Azizia is near the Sahara desert, so it's no wonder the place gets so hot.

California's Death Valley had the second-highest
temperature. This desert area hit 134 degrees Fahrenheit in 1913.

However here in Pasadena, CA the highest temp was 120. In 1986 we had almost two months of temps 117 degrees and above. Flat roofs and no a/c makes a home HOT!

All I can find is the highest recorded temperature in Oregon was Pendleton, Oregon, 119 degrees on 08/10/1898! Must note that Pendleton is in Eastern Oregon which is predominately high plains desert.
