    My understanding of what you can tape off is if it is over a certain age(not sure of the age) it is considered public domain and tapable if it is store bought. Most store bought are protected and won't let you tape them off.

    Now someone might correct me on this and that is ok but that is what I was told. It is like songs that become public domain.
