My sewing area is in the basement of our house. Because I am the only one who goes down there except for laundry retrieval, I am not very good about keeping the floors picked up. I drop my threads and snippets where I am standing. I miss the trash can and thread catcher half the time. It can build up after a while, and who wants to spend time cleaning it up.
So I take a few dollar bills and hide them in corners, under shelves or under the sewing machine and tell my son he can have them if he sweeps them up. I change hiding places each time so he has to put some effort into finding them all.

Clever idea for kids of a certain age. No kids here, so it won't work! :?
