I think as long as u don't apply heat it should be ok. Good question. Maybe someone has tried it.

When we moved out of our last house we used the ice cube trick for the deep dents that our pool table had made in the carpet. It is a regulation sized (9ft) slate table & beyond heavy! We put some ice cubes (the legs were really big, like 12"x 8") in the dents & let them sit & when they dried you couldn't even tell that the pool table had been there! It was pretty amazing. The thing I can't remember is if we had to do it more that once before they came out. This was all my husband's idea & I thought he was crazy, but it worked!

It shouldn't matter. Wool "felts" in a washing machine because of the fibers rubbing against each other. Wool fibers have little "hooks" that lock into each other with agitation in the presence of water and slippery soap. Water alone is unlikely to affect the fibers.

    yeah,
ices cubes a folded towel and your iron, basically you steam the dents out, or you could shampoo that spot with an extractor then brush the nap up gently, when it dries it should be good, or repeat until it's corrected. good luck
