My DGM was a Roos. The family was from Alsace-Lorrainne. Came over here in the 1800's and settled Fredricksburg , Tx. You are not that far from there. Take a weekend and drive down. Go to the Octoberfest. You will have a ball. I love that little town. We still have family there. My sister's family lives there and they love it. They have german beer and a real German Bakery that has been there for years. It's great and a lot of the locals speak German as well as English.
