All our rescue Dobermans have gone on to that Rainbow Bridge, as did our strong minded cats, black Zabo and Tuxedo Warlock.

Now I have Koko, half Siamese who was thrown away with his barely weaned litter mates 6 years ago at Christmas time. He was the only one of the wild bunch who would get near me, the others vanished, probably into the pit bulls' yard next door.

And then there's ladylike Frederica, the long haired white Himalayan who lovingly spreads white hairs all over my computer keyboard, my sewing machines, any fabrics left lying around and my chair in the front room. She was found bellied up to the window in my DD's 4th grade school room in Texas during a wild rain storm, desperate for warmth. DD's dogs didn't like her so she came to CA with my GD on the plane.

I grew up in a dog household, but when I got married, we were both working, so we go a kitten - my husband loved cats. I've had cats (and dogs) off and on ever since. My current watch cat is Peppers, an orange tiger bobtail. I would love a dog companion for myself and Peppers, but I don't really have the money right now.

I really think this is a great thread. I love to see and hear about all of the little creatures.

Of course they count! We have one kitty, 8 grandkitties, and 2 great grands. No great grand children yet! Kitty is a shelter cat named Ellie. She has just discovered my sewing, though she slept in the same room for several months. The rest belong to DD, DSs, and GDs.

I have 2 cats that are quite interested in everything I do. If I'm making the bed, they jump on it to make the task more challenging. If I am reading a book, that is when they want me to pat them. If I am sewing, that is when they decide to sit on what ever I am working on! And when I look at their sweet faces, I can't help but smile!
