How many of us are organ donors?

I, too, am an organ donor. Anything that's left, toast me & toss me!
My Dad will be 93 next month, and he has already signed his body to science, to use however they see fit. :D It may still be a while though, the guy is like the Energizer Bunny - go-go-GO!
At the ceramics shop where I paint, the owner glazes & fires hand prints made from donors by One Legacy, & they are given to the family of the donor.

I have been an organ donor for about 20 years. I have been very involved in the transplant world, more specifically the lung transplant patients. I have lung disease and may need one myself in the future. Even if you are ill, your tissues and skin or can be used for burn victims etc. Please sign up today and get into REAL recyling.

I have kidney disease - due to the invention of a blood pressure tablet I am sitting in remission for now - though the dreaded day may come yet when it marches on again. I have a friend who donated her husband's organs and one of the receipients wrote to her, she had got a kidney. Not only did it now free up her life because she was now well, but her mother who had been her carer and getting old, was now free in her life too. So a donation of an organ has multiple effects on receipients and on their carers too.
