    I have also found that a lot of clothes items that are dyed black have an odor. One jacket I washed a couple of times and then used Fabrize . It helped a lot.

    I hadn't thought of baking soda but I did wash a pair of jeans several times. The odor was awful. They finally came out odor free!

    My husband gets into gasoline and kerosene all the time. I have found Odor Ban works the best for this problem so would probably solve yours. Good luck
