I am so sorry that she was rude to you. She supplied the pattern, so if the skirts aren't "full enough" that is her fault. I think she should pay you because you did as you promised. I hope you can get over this...life is too short.

I would say since you worked off the pattern she gave you that she is at fault if they are not what she wanted. Not to mention that you were a good sport about adding onto the pattern because she wanted them longer.
I think I would let her know that you won't be available to make things in the future given that you contributed xxx hours to this project and it was for nothing. Maybe she doesn't realize how much time the skirts took.
Or maybe she is just clueless and rude....

If she wants people to make clothes for the kids, then she needs to make sure she has a pattern that doesn't require all the extra modifications and such, with the correct amount of fabric that's needed. Regardless of the fact that she says the skirts are "useless" to her, that's not YOUR problem, she picked the pattern, she picked the fabric, she gave you the alterations she wanted done, she still owes you money for your time, if she doesn't want to pay you, go to the school and complain. If someone else can add to the skirts and make them "useful", then tell her to go for it, but she still owes you the money for your time and effort.

My 2 cents... since they were for Girl Scouts..maybe this other teacher should have thought a little ahead and made arrangements for the girls to make their own skirts..maybe not so fancy, but serving more than one purpose..there is a sewing badge. I think this woman wanted to get something that would make her look like she'd done something really great instead of giving the kids a learning experience   :(
As for you Deb..I'm glad you've let it go, its not worth ruining your day over . You sewed, you vented, you recovered:D :D
