I wonder whether the stove guard around the front of the stove was to stop the dog from counter surfing and helping himself? The cockatoo was very happy to use the stove guard as a perch and it obviously gave him a more secure footing than a metal surface. It was wonderful to watch the trust between these 2 different species.
