I am 10 minutes from the beach. They say up here it will be the equivalent of a Nor'Easter. Mainly they are worried about beach erosion.

I think I'd still rather have earthquakes!!! They happen about every 10-20 years. Hurricanes would scare me. Good luck, Ditter. Be safe.

Please encourage her to get off the island. If evacuations have been issued she needs to leave. I've lived through too many hurricanes to count and you don't want to be in one of this size. They are too dangerous.

Bar Harbor, Maine here. We will get probably a tropical storm. I am not on the water's edge so I should be OK. Am worried though about my veggie garden, flower garden and some big trees on the property.
If the Canadian front comes through in time, we will be fine. Please say a prayer that it does.

I live in south Mississippi and Katrina's is still on my mind....that was the scariest day of my life. I hope the coastal people get out once they are told to do so. Let's don't have an onther Super Dome episode.....there were school buses that could have taken those people north.

I am Greenville, SC and I want you all to know that you are in our prayers. Please leave your area if need be. Don't risk it. We don't want to lose more of Gods Children to these horrible nature events. God Bless you ALL and be SAFE!!!!

My girlfriend, hubby and friends are leaving Sat. on a cruise out of Baltimore down the coast. I just emailed her to see if this will effect them. She's not sure yet? I told her not to blame me but blame my father (Earl) and apologized. (I hate the weather we're getting every where. Not normal.

I'll be praying and thinking about everyone thru this storm.

Oldest son lives in Branson, MO. So where is he right now? Wilmington, NC--been there several days on a combo work/fishing trip. He's heading back to Charlotte today and will fly home from there tomorrow. He said it has begun to rain in Wilmington now (Thurs. morning).
