I saw on the news tonight that hurricane Earl is a catagory 4 and could get stronger. There are evacuations ordered on the N. Carolina coast right now. They expect it to affect the whole eastern seaboard!
If you are in the effected area, what are your plans?

My mom lives in Eustis and I am always worried about her this time of year. Be safe, OK? Don't take any chances if you live near the coast. If evacuation is called for, please do so. Keep us posted.

Not I, but friends on the coast have an open invitation to camp out here. North Central NC. I pray it goes easterly. We need rain and all that, or the Good Lord would not give it to us, but the storms are so rough. Lots of times it comes up what they call the Cape Fear River Basin to the Neuse River and we get high water from lack of drainage, but I'm on the Summit of my county......woohoo. May our Lord bring the best for all.
Blessings,
Ruth

The Nor'Easter I was in on the Outer Banks three Septembers ago was bad enough for me. Those oceanfront vacation homes are wonderful until the bad weather hits. We were just S. of the house that Nights in Rodanthe was filmed in. The storm (front and back) hit both times at high tide and the bridge to the mainland was closed. They told us that we might have to evacuate. To where? That little strip of land is only a few blocks wide.
Those storms are rough and scary. Please everyone stay safe.
