Hurricane Ian

Rhonda, I too am on the east coast of southern Florida. The Treasure Coast area. Heavy rain here since last night. 2-4 by this morning. What will today bring? Higgs and prayers to all water logged people.

Stay safe everyone! I can't believe how fast this storm has grown in power! So much for wind shear breaking up the storm. I hate this! I am praying for all to stay healthy and alive in this storm and for a fast decrease in wind speeds.

Petthefabric, Rhonda, MarshaKay and all our Florida quilting boarders -- I hope your quilting projects are able to distract you from the weather. The weather channel is broadcasting live and I am thankful that the eye has made landfall. I hope it loses wind speed soon. I also hope it doesn't cross FL and slam full strength again on the east coast. Poor southwest Florida!

My prayers go out to all in Florida as the storm has now hit Florida, made a terrible mess along the way, millions without power, etc. I lived in Orlando, Fl for 30 years and am so glad I no longer live there but I still have many friends who I'v been in contact in recent days asking what their plans are during this storm. I lived thru the storms during 04 and 05 losing power, food, etc. Learned how to cook on a little propane stove and skillet. Had to use candles at night as I worked nights but luckily my business had backup power so went down early to take a shower and get ready for work. Of course that didn't do much for me in keeping me cool during the day/nights as this was back in August of those years. Probably isn't much cooler in late September either.
My prayers go out to all in the path of Ian.
