I truly know what it is like to "weather the storm". We headed for the basement around 1 am for the night. I think the cat really understood why we went down there. It is an awful thing to hear the winds, trees snapping and not know what is happening. Thank GOD we have a generator because our sump pump went all night and still is. If we did not have the generator, we would be down there right now bailing out buckets of water from a finished basement (UGH). We are hearing we will be without power for days. We have a lot of damage to our property but minor damage to the house. We cannot get out of our driveway because trees have snapped in two and are blocking our access. My husband is taking pictures and I will post later. Thank you all for your prayers, they worked and I hope never to go through something like this again. For all of you North of us, stay safe and I am praying for you.

I am in NJ, near Philadelphia. Only a brief power outage. Winds were not bad. slept right through the storm. If damage isn't bad here, maybe they'll send more resources to you and elsewhere.

I am pretty much in the middle if NYS and we are getting lots and lots of rain, some wind but it doesnt seem too bad right now. I am not sure what will come once the storm gets further up the coast of NY. I guess I expected lots of thunder and lightening but none yet if thats what you get with a hurricane.

Glad to hear all is well. Items can be replaced, you cannot not, so the most important survived!

Be thankful the storm had weakened. As bad has it has been, I was praying the East wouldn't get a category 3 or worse. Glad your family is okay, RenaB is right, things can be replaced!

Lots of prayers were sent to the east coast.

I guess a treadle machine would really come in handy if there was a long power outage.

    Stay safe!
