Charlee, what is the name of the quilt shop? We are going through there in June on the way to Medford. :-D

My DH always looks and drives around cities we go through when traveling. We have found several gun shops near quilt shops. Although, if there aren't any, DH goes with me into quilt shops and looks at fabric. He even has his favorite shops along the way. He doesn't sew on the machine but is very active in my love of sewing/quilting/acquiring vintage sewing machines. I take an interest in his woodworking/collection. :-D

Now that leads to another thought- how about Bonnie and Clyde gun toting, quilt hauling exhibition.:)

That is wonderful!

I think it would be great. There would be something for both DH and I. We are both interested in guns and quilts but this would be a perfect marriage to have both at one place.

Wow! Having a quilt show next door to a gun show would make both DH and me happy!

Not into guns all that much, only because I have never learned to use them, but I like the idea, and you are right about the parallels.

We had an exhibition which showed off the quilting and all of the carpentry things to do with sewing and quilting but not with guns as they have not really played as big a part in our history as in other countries. It was an interesting exhibition with spindles, spinning wheels, quilt racks,hussifs/etuis, needle holders, thimble holders and miriad of Victorian sewing boxes etc. Some of the items were quite modern and made by the present day ladies' husbands. One that I really liked was a stool , covered in tapestry done by the lady, with a box attached to it. Inside the box were 5 racks to hold embroidery threads and tools. The top lifted up for access and acted as a table to put the work and lamp and magnifier on. I was very 'taken' with it.
