My sister quilts but only does Blue Jean quilts and bags. The blue jean quilts are used by her husband and son when they go hunting. Another connection.

I like the idea of the two side by side. It would give my husband something to do rather than read a book.

Couldnt agree more ~ The thought of a gun sends shivers down my spine. Don't like the idea of having one in the house and thank goodness, my DH feels the same way . The days for shooting for food are long gone, it's not a necessity any longer. Also don't want to hear the argument about thinning out the herd maybe we should let nature take it's course.

Several in my family hunts. My DSIL takes our 4 yr old DGD, she loves it. She has, as we were taught to respect guns they are not toys, she has also been taught you kill it, you eat it. It's not just as sport, but a way of life for some.
With the economy the way it is, alot may go back to hunting as a way to help feed their families. No, my daughter and son-n-law can afford to buy meat, but love the wild game, not to mention it is MUCH healthier. Not trying to disagree with your opinion, I respect it, just letting you know guns are still used by some to feed their families.
