when I worked for a cell phone company, I heard about putting a wet phone in a bag of rice. That is not always the best thing to do because then the rice gets wet and so the phone is still wet, too. Take off the back and then take out the battery. open the phone and just let it air dry until you can't see any moisture in the screen. If there is moisture in the screen, there is still water inside. The phone may or may not work but you won't know until it completely dry. Also DO NOT use a hair dryer of put it on the dash board of a car to dry out. Many of the electronic components are glued on. The water and heat will weaken or even melt the glue and your phone is toast then.

I never put my phone in my pocket- prevents those kinds of things. I did however, wash my grandson's phine, he left it in his pocket. Wash was half done when he asked about it. I stopped the washer, got it out, we let it sit overnight, and it worked in the morning. a cheapo trac phone!
