Several years ago my husband got a mirror to fit in where the scrubbing part of the wash board is. I have in hanging in the laundry room and a lot of people have complemented my husband on his handcraft!!

Billy, when you gave it to her, you should have told her you'd noticed she needed to lose a few pounds, so you got her this "new washing machine" because you knew she needed the exercise.

P.S. Go ahead and schedule your funeral in advance, though.

Your wife is lucky to have such a nice looking machine and you can tell her I said so (haha). My washing machine looks like a plunger only instead of rubber its metal. Isn't it amazing what they used to have to use. We are lucky today.

She's mad at you because you didn't buy the tub that goes with it.....

Very cool...is the washboard bit of it glass? My step-granny had one and it was a thick greenish glass.

Okay, DD just looked over my shoulder and asked me what that was? She did not believe me when I told her it was used to wash clothes. Does this mean we are antiques because we all know what this is? Or have I just failed to educate my DD about the simpler things in life?

My wife knows not to play with my washing machine!! And I do have the tub to go with it sitting in the shed. My daughter used it for bobbing for apples at her Halloween/birthday party last year.
