I remember my mother using a wash board. She worked so hard taking care of 8 children. I haven't seen one of those in a long time.

Oh, yeah! My mom used one of these along with a wringer-washer she hooked up to the kitchen sink! She used the board to scrub up socks (when she could get them off our feet!) The whole house was like a steam bath and she was NOT in a good mood on washday.

Congratulations on your latest and best! These are wonderful when they can just hang on the wall and not be needed for more urgent work!

Oh my, mine wouldn't have one that nice, my girlfriends hubby one christmas bought her a garage door opener. This was back in the seventies and I think he's still in the doghouse.

You paid 5000.00 for a front load??????? Yikes!!!
It was the matching set Washer and Dryer/Kenmore Elite with the 5 way motion or what I like to call the "Fingers of death".

I hope I can get 26 years out of this set like I did the last set I bought from them.

You'll like these. I love mine. Did you get the stands with them? I did have to have the mother board on the washer replaced within the first 3 months, however (under warranty). But all is well now. They cut the # of loads you have in half at least.

Funny story - son's washer died. He liked mine so he went and bought the same washer. They have a little one so it made sense to get a large load washer. WRONG - they have to split the load to dry it or else go buy a new dryer now.

Well I can guarrantee you that your front loader won't last even a fraction as long as that washboard will:) Front loaders last about ten years.
