Sorry about the job loss; however, a 2nd interview sounds like a good possibility & as Moonpi said, all the rules of job hunting have changed. That sinking feeling will leave your middle soon & learn to enjoy having time off. Organize your sewing room, your closets, clean top of cabinets, anything to stay busy. Start planning the Christmas gifts you want to make & go through your yardage & scraps to see how many you can make with what you already have. You may be surprised. Start looking for quilt patterns like Irish Chain that you can make with scraps & all you might need to buy would be white fabric, or white muslin to go with what you already have. There are lots of possibilities.

I will be thinking about you & praying you feel a peace within yourself. Know that your God or Higher Power (don't know your religious affiliation) has you in the palm of their hand & have already aligned your future. Take care & if you need to talk there will be willing listeners on the Board. Keep a positive attitude because as long as you are putting your best foot forward, the bills will get paid (an unknown source may show up at the most unexpected time, or there are agencies who will help with utilities, etc.). Good luck & I'll check back to see how you're doing.

Good luck on Monday. My job was eliminated last July. They hired me back for another position and let me go again in October. The first one was my dream job that I would have done for nothing because I loved it so much. The second was great too because it was with the same organization whose work I really believe in but... I guess everything happens for a reason because my Mom was diagnosed with cancer in January so now I've been able to go help her (she's 6 hours away). I'm very fortunate that my DH has a stable job and we can get by on his income.

I remember many years ago I was laid off from a job. It was heart breaking. I felt like I had done something wrong. The timing was perfect as I came down with the flu the next day. Good luck to you. Remember the job GOD wants you to have is out there.

Good luck with your job offer and negotiations. It's tough what you are going through. My DH's company just got bought out and the former CEO left so we're waiting to see what happens next. This is not how I envisioned my life "mid-career".

To me that's just wrong to waste money on celebrating not having a job. What are those people thinking? You are so smart to be one step ahead of that bunch with unemployment paperwork and job offer to consider. I think your employer lost a valuable employee letting you go

Hugs and prayers to you as well! I have an interview on Tuesday...first one since I lost my fulltime job last June from layoff.
Keep your chin up and remember God has bigger and better things to come for both of us!
Hugs-
