I don't knoow how to feel

I have lived this last year with unemployment for my husband twice in one year. We were so fortunate that he found another job so quickly both times. I do understand the emotions that go with it however. And there is no celebrating at the unemployment office. Unless you never needed to work before its not a time to celebrate as so many are getting to the end of their benefits and still no job so not a one has a guarantee of work 'later' when they are ready to start shopping for a job. Ask other members here you will hear the stories.. unemployment running out.. its scary no other way to describe it. I am sorry for your loss and hope that this will be the start of something much better for you and your family. It sounds like your one of the wise ones in your old company who will be the first to start again. And its three weeks for the first check to come in (you can file online by the way). It seems like forever.

I was laid off Thursday along with the HR Benefits Admin person. I'm the payroll person. For me, there is a sense of relief from stress because the firm has laid off 1/3 of its employees nationwide in the last 16 months.
I don't get the celebrating of your friends. DH hopes to go back to work in April after being on medical leave since June. Check with your local library for resources. Ours is currently offering a 3 part job skills workshop for free.
My new positive thinking mantra - "Right and perfect employment is seeking me. Thank you God for guiding me to it." Keep your chin up! We can and will get thru this.

Sorry you lost your job. I know you'll go through a period of mourning for it, but having the time off can be wonderful, too. Make the most of it.
Good luck with the interview next week.
Someone did start a thread about being unemployed several weeks back. I can't find it at this point.
You might check here for an unemployment networking & support group. They can help with resume critiques, job hunting tips and job leads, as well as dealing with being unemployed.

My husband has been laid off 6 times in our 27 years of marriage, it is never easy.
The good news is you already have a second interview, which is a really good thing.
The main thing is try not to get discouraged and sometimes that may be hard.
I am sending good vibes your way.
