I found a cousin there that I never knew about. Our Grandmothers were sisters, we were born and raised about 30 miles apart but for whatever reason our families never got together or else they only got the adults together. He was glad to hear more family history from me, as I was from him. And we both grew up eating the same recipes from our Grandmothers' cooking. Still in email contact.

i think your noses & chins all resemble each others. I just went thru something similar to that with a jr. high school web site someone just started. One of the girls said she thought she was related to me & I didn't pay any attention thinking she was talking to the other girl in chat. Then the next time we got on she said it again. So we started discussing how we could be related & it was her grandmother Josephine & my Grandpa George. What is scarey is we all lived in the same small town growing up & we could have very well married our own cousin? But as it turns out I really don't think we were related & G'pa isn't alive to find out. There's no one left to ask either. But I thought what a small small world.

I too have done family geneolgy. In touring a cemetery-- my DH tells people that we visit dead relatives!-- we found a woman buried next to his grandpa. This man died in the 1960's. grandma died 1930's. The woman we found in the cemetery was his second wife!! My husband never knew he was married again, the cousin with us said,"that's just as well, we don't talk about her." Maybe in your case the second marrage was taboo to talk about also. Congratulations on finding new family.
