Oh how lucky you are. I tried to get my daughter interested in quilting. Then my granddaughter, who even signed up for a sewing class in high school. But....neither have an interest. If they spent more time with a needle in their hands, rather than a cell phone, they would be much more content with life.

That is cool! - But not much fun to just watch!
For regular piecing, your "old" machine should still be usable - for either of you!
If you are still willing to use it, maybe your daughter won't think it's so "second-rate"
